onstruction of Mohammed Isah Road Extension in Asokoro District, Abuja

Project Overview

The construction of Mohammed Isah Road Extension in Asokoro, Abuja, commenced on September 9, 2025. This vital infrastructure project aims to enhance connectivity and drainage in the area, with a road width of 6 meters, including 1.5-meter verges and 1-meter walkways.

Key Progress Highlights

– Drainage and Sewer Works: Excavation for stormwater discharge channels and sewers is underway. Deep digging at M19 was required due to the high topography and bedrock encounters, which caused minor delays but has been successfully managed.

Manhole Installation: Manholes are being installed at every plot along the road for easy access to the main sewer line, facilitating wastewater collection into the streamline.

Pipe Installation: Stormwater pipes (400mm diameter) and sewer pipes (200mm diameter) are being laid. Long protruding pipes (curly outlets) collect surface runoff from the road and discharge it efficiently. A sand trap has also been successfully created.

Subbase Preparation: Removal of poor subbase material is nearly 80% complete, with areas refilled using quality sand and properly compacted.

Ongoing Utilities: Installation of electric street lighting conduits continues steadily. Kerb laying is scheduled to commence shortly.

The project team remains committed to high-quality execution and minimal disruption. Stay tuned for further updates.
